#Install silverlight on ie install
We also set 'allowed apps from anywhere' in GateKeeper as we were wondering if it is preventing the Silverlight OOB app to install but unfortunately no luck. Whenever we tries to install the OOB app it shows access denied error "The feature you are attempting to use is prohibited by your browser."
we are unable to install the Silverlight OOB app through it. We are able to load the Silverlight OOB app in our application we created using WKWebKit after setting = trueīut the problem we are stuck is. We are basically trying to create a simple application using Xcode which will allow user to enter their link in a textbox and then it will load the Silverlight app and they can right click and install the OOB application in their Mac. For Windows, we are good for now as Internet Explorer supports Silverlight app. even Firefox ESR version which we are currently using for Mac. We are aware Silverlight is fading away and working to migrate to a new cross platform technology but it may take a year or long so currently we are working on a project in which we are trying to use WKWebKit to load our silverlight app and allow our user to download/install their app through it as all major browsers stopped supporting Silverlight plugin.
#Install silverlight on ie mac
There is no longer support for Chrome, Firefox, or any browser using the Mac operating system. Silverlight development framework is currently only supported on Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11, with support for Internet Explorer 10 ending on January 31, 2020. In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes. We are having a Silverlight Out Of Browser (OOB) application in which our customer downloads their app through a public URL where we have hosted the Silverlight app. Microsoft Silverlight will reach the end of support on October 12, 2021. If you quickly need to get your Silverlight working you can do as I did: use the “Reset Internet Explorer Settings” button in the “Advanced” tab to restore some IE settings to their default RTM state this will not delete your personal data (cookies, forms, InPrivate filters, accelerators etc…) unless you explicitly flag the “Delete personal settings” checkbox: reset internet explorer settingsĪnyway I am curios and I managed to collect some data before and after the reset to compare and get the differences and identify which setting is causing the problem (of course I’ll post it when ready), I just wanted to save you and headache in case you have this same issue. This seemed to be a machine-wide setting (not just my account) because I got the same problem no matter which account I used to log-on to my machine.
One of the toughest problems I worked on in this period was actually on my machine… for some reason I could no longer use Silverlight on my office desktop, every time Internet Explorer proposed to install the component but either the setup failed with an error indicating that Silverlight was already installed on my machine (which it really was!) or some other error that inevitably lead to an aborted setup. Most browser plug-ins (including Silverlight, Flash, Java and almost all ActiveX controls) only work in 32-bit browsers currently. RECOMMENDED: Use Silverlight in the 32-bit Internet Explorer process on 圆4 systems. I just realized I have not posted anything here over the last couple of months which is definitely not a good thing to keep a blog alive… ? It’s been a busy period, I’ve been working on the Italian Developer Support Blog with my colleague Raffaele, of course working with our customers on Support Cases, working on a few internal organizational changes (still in progress) and I’ve also been working on a tool to automatically collect logs and information about IIS, ASP.NET and the server itself we’ll (hopefully ?) use in our everyday work when troubleshooting customer’s problems. One moment, please, while the current Silverlight installation status is determined.
